At the beginning of class students passed in their "Bumper Sticker" assignments.
Next, students participated in a "graffiti" activity. Posters with different topics were arranged throughout the room. Students rotated to different stations, adding any additional information they could to the station.
Students then read an article about the strengths and weaknesses of the British and Colonists before the revolution, and pages 194-195 in the textbook. As they read they made a two-column note chart with "British advantages" on one side, and "Colonist advantages" on the other.

Strengths and Weakness Reading
Next, students returned to their original stations with a blue and red marker. They circled British strengths with a red marker, and Colonist strengths with a blue marker. We then had a discussion about the strengths and weaknesses.
At the end of class, students began working on a Venn Diagram, placing strengths and weaknesses in the appropriate places.
