Today we looked at how propaganda affected the way we view the Boston Massacre.
Students began class by writing down the daily goal. They then answered two questions for a warm-up which we discussed. As they wrote the warm-up I collected yesterday's homework assignment.
Next, students took notes on the Townshend Acts and the Boston Massacre (slides 10-13.) See Wednesday's lesson for PowerPoint and notes.
We then watched two videos on the Boston Massacre, each which showed the event through a different perspective. Students watched the videos and kept notes on the similarities and differences between the videos. We then had a discussion about the propaganda in each of the videos and how a tv producer can include or omit information to make a point.
