I began class by checking last night's homework as students worked on a warm-up activity.

Next, I taught a lesson on information, and how images can influence people's ideas about places they have never visited.   See the PowerPoint of the lesson for specifics.

Finally, students broke into pairs and read an excerpt from Uncle Tom's Cabin. Students took turns reading, stopping at each * mark to make a comment on what they had read.

When students finished reading they discussed the four discussion questions on the PowerPoint.

Homework is:  There will be a binder quiz on assignment #1-10 next week.  Students should organized their binders for the quiz.
