We began class by watching a clip from the Ken Burns documentary The Civil War. As students watched the video I checked their homework.
Next, I reviewed the homework using a PowerPoint to guide the discussion.

After discussing the causes of the Civil War we watched the next segment of the video that reviewed many of the events we had been discussing.
Homework: Students who missed class should use the Road to the Civil War PowerPoint to complete their graphic organizers (see Thursday's lesson for organizers.)
