Today we read an article in class about the natives and disease. Before reading, students participated in a "probable passage" assignment (#12). Students placed key words and phrases into the different squares on their sheets. They then wrote a "gist statement", predicting what the article would be about.
Next, students paired up and read the article, "Natives and Disease." As they read they came to * marks. Students needed to stop and make a relevant comment about the reading.
At the end of the article there are five reading comprehension questions.
Homework is to answer the reading comprehension questions using complete sentences. Be sure to re-state the question in your answer.
